AROSAmp, the very first mp3 player for AROS now has an alpha version available and it does work! Head on over to the AROS Archives to download it. This is brought to you by Mithrandir. If you find any bugs, please report them on AROS-exec.org. Wow, there is a lot of great stuff coming out!
Matthias Rustler aka Mazze is working on converting the Ruby programming language over to AROS. I really appreciate his effort because I would love to be able to use Ruby in AROS. Keep up the great work Mazze!
I played around with the VICE Emulator yesterday. I wanted to see how well it worked in AROS. I installed it and it worked great. I had Lode Runner running in AROS and that was sooooo cool! I did have a slight problem at first. While in VICE when I tried to attach a d64 file, I was using the file selector that popped up. It was not keeping track of my path correctly. I had to manually retype the correct path into the selector and then it worked fine. This problem is caused by AROS, not VICE. I hear Blacky Stardust is working on cleaning this up and fixing this, so that is GREAT!

I'm very happy to see someone tring to port Ruby to an Amiga environment. Ruby is a nice object-oriented language with a lot of built in API functions, meaning that a lot of cross platform RUBY applications can be prought over to AROS without too much effort, apart from the GUI.
