The AROS Show is here to help provide AROS information and to help promote the AROS Operating System.

Michael Schulz has updated his blog. He has an update on the x86_64 kernel for AROS.

A new bounty for DOS Packets has been created. This looks like a very good one. Hopefully the bounty price will rise on this one. This is the definition from the Team AROS web site:

"Adding support of real DosPackets in our dos.library. The dos.library should be capable of dealing with both the new-style filesystems (device based) and the old style process based filesystems. It should be possible to use both (so that porting of filesystems from Amiga could be easier). In order to make the change transparent for the user and developer, an automatic translation between the old style packets and new style CMD's should happen automatically."

Here is another definition from Aros-exec.org:

"Yup, another bounty has hit TeamAROS, this one some calling a "step backwards" since AROS went a different then AOS/MOS/OS4 did with DOS packets. As such, AROS is left on it's own for file systems while AOS/MOS/OS4 gets to enjoy ext2, SFS, or FAT32/NTFS. The decision after some mighty long debates on the dev ml, support both systems, damn it! Not only will AROS enjoy easy ports of exsting filesystems used by "amigas", this will also pave the way to other bounties, like the kickstart ROM clone."

In other news, m0ns00n has made a small update to Lunapaint to help it run in Linux hosted a bit better. Some memory leaks were also fixed. He has made updates to his Lunapaint web site too. Here is the link: http://www.sub-ether.org/lunapaint/
